A Body in Places–Eiko Otake (Fall 2025)
A Body in Places–Eiko Otake
September 19, 2025 @ 6 PM, Spurrier Dance Theater
On Film—in collaboration with the Program for Dance and Movement and as part of the Rochester Fringe Festival—is excited to present A Body in Places, a curated selection of works by celebrated movement artist Eiko Otake, who will join us virtually to present the performance and for a Q&A session afterwards. This event will be held in Spurrier Hall at 6 PM.
Spanning four decades of Eiko’s career, the works presented here showcase her longstanding devotion to capturing movement in motion, highlighting collaborations between body and camera, as well as between body and its surrounding environment. This event is part of Dance On Film, a series which will run throughout the 2025-2026 academic year devoted to the intersection of dance and film.
Tickets are $15 or free for students with ID.
Made possible with the support of the Schwartz Performing Arts Fund of the Institute for the Performing Arts, the Visual and Cultural Studies Program, Film and Media Studies, the University Committee for Interdisciplinary Studies, the Humanities Project, the Central New York Humanities Corridor, and the Department of Modern Languages and Culture.
