The Non-Fiction Series: Essay, Experimental, and Documentary Films is an innovative program bridging academia with the dynamic world of non-conventional filmmaking. This platform celebrates the creativity of both emerging and established filmmakers, offering them the opportunity to share their work with diverse audiences.
Each year, through an open call and thoughtful programming process, a selection of compelling short films is curated for screening at universities. This edition features films from Latin America, the Middle East, and the United States, inviting audiences to experience a rich tapestry of perspectives that delve into the depths of human experience.
Join us in exploring these diverse voices that connect us to the essence of humanity by intertwining history, art, animation, and documentary films. The Q&A following the film will feature three filmmakers: Homa Sarabi, Saif Alsaegh, and Eliseo Ortiz.
PROGRAM INCLUDES:
Anita Lost in the News – Behzad Nalbandi
Bitter with a Shy Taste of Sweetness – Saif Alsaegh
Fragments of a Revolution – Sahand Sarhaddi
Near Nowhere – Nora Zubizarreta
The Cut – Eliseo Ortiz
This event has been generously co-sponsored by The Humanities Project, The Graduate Program in Visual and Cultural Studies, Film and Media Studies, and the University Committee on Interdisciplinary Studies
